Involvement in Minutes a Day!

I’m trying to figure out how to be more involved in my adopted community, especially since the amount of time I actually spend IN Frederick is currently so small. (I work in DC, which means in addition to my eight-hour workday, I spend four or more hours each day commuting. I know a lot of you feel my pain. Or is it that I feel YOUR pain?)

So far, I have this blog and I do some other writing that you might have seen around town. I shop here, so I am supporting business here. I have promoted and participated in events and fundraisers for good causes, but none of it seems like nearly enough.

What do YOU do to “give back” in your neighborhood and the larger Frederick community when you are strapped for time?

(Speaking of which, the City of Frederick needs people to serve on the Public Art Commission. Applications are due by 4:30 PM on Thursday, August 19, 2010. Click link for more info or copy & paste http://www.cityoffrederick.com/cms/press/mediaadvisory.php?ID=1846.)
