Letter to Congress

Following is a letter sent to our representatives in the Congress regarding the phony shutdown of the administrative side of the Federal Government:

“The Affordable Care Act is the crux of this whole phony government shutdown. As I see it, ACA was enacted in an unfair and undemocratic manner. It was written in haste and no doubt has major flaws. It was pushed through by the Democrat majority by suspending normal order and bypassing the rules. When House Republicans asked for a reading of the bill, Ms. Pelosi condescendingly said, “We’ll pass it and then you can read it”. Sen. Reid’s goal is to establish Democrat one-party rule over the entire country. His unwillingness to compromise on anything is clear indication of that. Statesmanship is dead in the Congress. I’m afraid our democracy is dying with it.”

I am not optimistic that this will be at all influential since our representatives are all Democrats dependent on the House and Senate leadership for their position in the hierarchy. Moreover, they are using the shutdown as an excuse for not reading their mail. Nevertheless, we must make our opinions known. If we don’t, American democracy will die.

It’s bad enough that we have one-party rule in the State of Maryland. We had Democrat one-party rule over the Congress for the first two years of the Obama administration and the result was Obamacare. Democrat one-party rule over the entire nation would be a disaster.

    You are correct in your assessment that the ACA is the center piece of this manufactured shutdown. However, I do not believe that the goal is a one party rule. I believe the goal is the literal destruction of the United States Constitution. It is the only document stopping the one world order so desired by Marxists.

    The Declaration of Independence clearly states “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

    I believe that this government has become destructive to these ends. It is time for the people to stand up and say enough is enough.
