Daniel Bryan just got Punk’d

by Dan Rice. 0 Comments

I think a feud between the Wyatt Family and CM Punk and Daniel Bryan will be a lot of fun. The promos alone in this one should make this THE must-see storyline for the rest of the year. So, I'm definitely looking forward to see where this could end up. That being said, the fact that Daniel Bryan beat Randy Orton three or four times and isn't walking around as the WWE champion is the exact thing that has been wrong with creative over the past couple of years. CM Punk got himself over in a big ... read more

New tag champs!

by Dan Rice. 0 Comments

Congrats to Cody Rhodes and his older brother Dustin, better known as Goldust, on winning the tag straps last week. Maybe I'm still dreaming, but a tag title defense and change in the main event of Raw makes me feel like the tag division may be turning a corner. Maybe I'm wrong and they'll just be used as a prop in the Triple H/Rhodes storyline, but this could be a launching pad to making the titles relevant again. It wouldn't take much, either. Triple H could send a couple of teams after the ... read more

Good for business?

by Dan Rice. 0 Comments

Triple H's character these days is all about doing what's best for business. But, when your company's fans are asking for their money back after a show, is that really good for business? I didn't order Night of Champions this past Sunday, and I'm glad I didn't. Some fans, however, decided not to skip the show, were treated to a Daniel Bryan win (that really came a month too late), and were then disappointed when he was stripped of his title a night later. They were so upset, in fact, that PWInsider.com ... read more

Finally…

by Dan Rice. 0 Comments

It's been way too long since I've been here, and there's lots going on these days, so let's get right to it. The big story today coming out of last night's Raw is that there is currently no WWE champion, thanks to the Corporation 2.0. For me, the jury's still out on Triple H's version of the Corporation. Unlike McMahon during his feud with Austin, I have a hard time seeing Triple H getting embarrassed regularly, if at all, like McMahon would. Nor do I see Daniel Bryan driving into an arena in ... read more

Raw 1000

by Dan Rice. 0 Comments

They've said in the past that anything can happen, so why should I be surprised that Charlie Sheen could step into the ring? But, more on that in a minute, as we take a closer look at last night's 1000th episode of Monday Night Raw. I'm not sure what the ratings for the show will be, but I have to imagine that there were a lot of people watching as this has been hyped big time for months now. And, while there were some things I enjoyed, such as the DX reunion, the Brothers of Destruction teaming ... read more

Heyman returns

by Dan Rice. 0 Comments

With Brock Lesnar's limited number of dates over the next year, the creative team had to figure out ways to keep him off television, yet keep him relevant, and I think the creative team delivered in a big way. Paul Heyman returned to a WWE ring last Monday for the first time in years to reprise his role as an advisor to Brock Lesnar, speaking on his behalf as the former UFC champ contemplates legal action against the WWE. And, while Heyman said his client won't return, I'd say it's a foregone ... read more

Interview with Brie Bella

by Dan Rice. 0 Comments

I know it's been a while sports entertainment fans, and I know a lot has happened over the past few weeks, probably more than you even know. I've been away on my honeymoon, so I missed Money in the Bank, but I've heard a lot about it, and there's definitely a lot to talk about.  But, first, I had been working on an interview with WWE Diva Brie Bella for several weeks, and I was finally able to get it, just before heading out on my honeymoon, so I wasn't able to post it until now. So, to make ... read more

Punk’s final act continues

by Dan Rice. 0 Comments

Like most fans, I was really curious as to how Raw was going to follow-up the amazing CM Punk angle from the previous week, and, given the circumstances, I think they did as good of a job as possible. Punk getting suspended made sense. Even if you're on your way out, telling off the boss isn't the best way to go about things, so WWE gets credit for logic in this case. A new number one contender's match was held since the Money in the Bank pay-per-view was two weeks away and now there was no ... read more

CM Punk shoots and scores

by Dan Rice. 0 Comments

I could talk about how much I enjoyed seeing the Shawn Michaels cameo or how much more they could've gotten out of the Raw Roulette wheel than what they did or how impressive Nikki Bella's and Kelly Kelly's submission maneuvers looked during their (very) brief submission match or even that I continue to enjoy Mark Henry's turn and the nice spot where Big Show went through the cage during his and Alberto Del Rio's match. But, there's no need to right now because there was only one thing on this past ... read more

Macho Man passes away

by Dan Rice. 0 Comments

News outlets are reporting that the former WWE and Intercontinental champion reportedly suffered a heart attack while driving his Jeep Wrangler in Florida, then crossed lanes of oncoming traffic and hit a tree. The 58-year-old Savage, real name Randy Poffo, died a short time late at a hospital. He wife, Lynn, was also with him, but survived the crash with minor injuries. Police say both had their seatbelts on and alcohol wasn't a factor. Savage was one of the legends I grew up watching. I remember ... read more
