"Amazon is including a few tricks of its own. It includes (a) system that predicts what you’ll watch next and tees up the show or movie so that it streams more quickly. It’s called Advanced Streaming and Prediction - or ASAP, get it?"

Could it be? Could we actually be getting to this month's Netflix Pix in a relatively reasonable amount of time? OK, so maybe it's October 10, but it sure comes a hell of a lot quicker than September's list did. Plus, you'll have to forgive me for taking time to serve school lunches, which, as it turns out, can really get in the way of blogging about Internet television.
Oh, wait. That's right. Nobody's reading anymore. I forgot.
Still, we push on through! And still, as has been the case for ... read more
Because this is what happens when you move the show from a Sunday to a Monday: We can't get to it until Friday. So, yes. I'm fully aware that nobody reads this thing anyway. But commenting on something that happened four days ago? That's taking our version of pathetic to a new level.
I mean, what is this? 2003?

Is there really a better time than the day of the Emmys to finally sit down and ramble about the second season of Netflix's "Derek?" That was rhetorical.
Actually, I've been waiting specifically for this day to finally put the series' second run to rest on this here blog. Why is that? Well, that's because tonight, Ricky Gervais will have the opportunity to win one of those ballyhooed Statues Of Emmy in the Outstanding Actor In A Comedy category.
Yeah, and about that.

Anyway, Big Red has been making news this week, reaching a handful of minor milestones along the way. In case if you were wondering about where I got the word "milestone" from, how about we turn to USA Today's Jayme Deerwester, who was one of many writers that took a screen grab of Reed Hastings' Facebook page ...

The fourth season of Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee" officially came to a close on Thursday, July 17, but I only caught up with it ... let's say, "about a week ago." The episode featured Jon Stewart and two different cars: The 1968 AMC Gremlin and the 1978 AMC AMX. They went to the Tick Tock Diner. Stewart wore a baseball cap. Some people laughed. Others wondered why he or she couldn't get the final 30 seconds of the episode to play on his or her ... read more
Boy, oh boy. This is easily my favorite Netflix Pix list of the year so far and it's not close. And what better time than now, right as the dog days of summer kick into full gear? Instead of tolling around in the hot summer sun, you can blast the AC, pull up Big Red's instant streaming library, and sit with any of the following five picks (or, well, four of them, at least) to ensure some super-duper greater-than-great movie-watching fun.
