Y es folks it is confirmed and there is actual footage of gameplay of Duke Nukem Forever! For those who need a refresher course, I'll be more than happy to help.

The development of Duke Nukem Forever started in 1997 by 3D Realms. Throughout the development cycle, there have been many changes to the game and a LOT of money went down the toilet. Visual details, game engines, a lot of factors like these were picked up and scrapped to keep up with the development time. But, layoffs, staff switching roles and funding issues led the development of the title astray. Last year, 3D Realms closed its doors and filed for bankruptcy. Duke Nukem Forever was still in development in that point and even had promotional screenshots of the game. Thus, the game was in limbo and it just faded away. Revealed at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle, Washington, Gearbox Software announced that they have taken over development of Duke Nukem Forever and the game will be released sometime between Holiday 2010 and early 2011.

Maybe some gameplay footage will make you believe the game is still in existence!
