Game online? How about in your web browser?

In between playing Halo 4 and Assassin’s Creed 3 , why not try some online games?  No I’m not talking about playing multi-player on either of the above titles (although both are fantastic!).

What I am referring to is, thanks to HTML5 (and Internet times), there are a lot of “free games” out on the web for you to enjoy on your smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop.

So in the interest of turning you loose on the game list below, I’m gonna keep it short and sweet this time around.  Jump in, have fun and let me know all about it in the comments section below:

Angry Birds

After playing this, don’t forget to check out Angry Birds: Star Wars on iOS and Android when it comes out on Thursday, November 8th.

Atari Arcade: Online

Including Asteroids , Centipede , Lunar Lander , Missile Command , Pong , Super Breakout and Yars’ Revenge.

Available in both standard and high definition, you play as someone who is running across rooftops to escape the alien invasion that is ravaging the earth.  This title is available online, for iOS and Android devices.  I play it at least once a week.  Good times.

Contre Jour

Made popular on iOS, this version of Contre Jour was made in order to highlight the new JavaScript engine with the latest version of Internet Explorer.  Check it out in HD (60 fps).

Cut the Rope

Another great title that was ported from iOS to Internet Explorer with HTML5, the purpose of this game is to feed OM NOM the candy.  Are you up to the challenge?  I know I am and I can’t stop playing this great game!!

World’s Biggest PAC-MAN

Anyone who has played videogames over the last 20+ years has had their fill of PAC-MAN (and Mrs. PAC-MAN).  But how about a version of PAC-MAN that is custom-built and (nearly) endless?  Check this title out because it is endless fun!!

The classic shape-matching game brought to the web.  Enjoy!

Canvas Rider

Playing as a stick figure riding a bike over "sketchy" terrain, this title has gone on to much acclaim and enables you to make your own levels.

Encapsulate the blue orbs before they explode.  Go ahead, encapsulate !!

The Convergence

Men and women working together to meet a goal ( and to beat each level).  Go figure.

Made for the Chrome internet browser, this HTML5 version of the popular mobile game let’s you play the first few stages of the game for free.

Playing as a fox, you make your way away from a farm by running next to an old, wooden fence and periodically jumping over ditches.  The graphics in this game are fairly picturesque.

Sketch Out

A new spin on the Super Breakout game set in space.  The graphics are beautiful, the gameplay is simple.  I hope you have a few minutes to check it out.

Nothing like some 8-bit fun.  This has a Legend of Zelda feel to it, and lets you guide “Tomo” out of a sinkhole.

Also available on the Apple App Store (for iPhone / iPad), this game is simple: avoid the red dots.  How long can you last and how high can your score go?

Are you a fan of Scrabble or Words with Friends , then this game is right up your alley.  Play tiles off of your rack.  Add a word to play it.  But if you can't play that word, then swap it to continue moving forward with the game.

I never thought that “typing” could be this much fun.  In Z-Type , you have to shoot down incoming orbs, but you do it by typing the word that is next to the orb.  Too cool.

...Thanks for reading.
