Just look at that hair. It's as if he took on the starring role in a Yahoo Serious biopic ... which I would totally pay to see, for what it's worth.
Anyway, the first trailer for the Oscar-bait thriller "The Counselor" has made the rounds this week, with much attention being given to Bardem's Billie Joe Armstrong 'do — and for good reason! He looks like he grew it using Chia Pet seeds. Nothing can compare to his pudding-bowl cut for "No Country for Old Men," but this comes close.
The film itself, which details a lawyer who gets caught up in drug trafficking, looks like it could end up being all over the place, even though it's from a script by the acclaimed Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Cormac McCarthy (who also, incidentally, wrote the book "No Country" was based on) and directed by Ridley Scott. And it certainly has a marquee-friendly cast: Michael Fassbender plays the lawyer, Penelope Cruz is his wife, Bardem and Cameron Diaz (no comment on her recent casting as Miss Hannigan in the new "Annie" movie) as drug lords, and an unwashed Brad Pitt plays a thug type. Oh, and cheetahs, because why not?
