Art for All

TAG shopping

One thing I love about living in Frederick is being able to do all my Christmas shopping without setting foot in a mall.

The Muse and the Delaplaine’s Gift Gallery are always good sources for unique and affordable gifts and cards.

I also recommend The Artists Gallery at 4 East Church St. The cooperative has 20 members working in a variety of styles. This month, nothing is larger than 16X20.  A lot of the work is surprisingly inexpensive considering the quality. For example, you can find one-of-a-kind earrings by Linda Slattery Sherman for $15-$25 while her 12″X12″ paintings go for $295. Also at that price point is Joan Tarbell Plato’s acrylic and watercolor painting (see above) for $300.

You can also find a good selection of mixed-media boxes as well as framed photographs and prints for as little as $30.  If you have an art lover on your list, it’s worth stopping by.

Let me know if you have other suggestions for art gifts, and I’ll be sure to post them. If you have a photo or two, even better.
