More Commuter Bus Service to Downtown Frederick

Effective November 1st, more commuter bus service became available to downtown Frederick. The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) split its 991 Commuter bus, serving Washington and Frederick counties as a commute method to the Shady Grove Metro Station, into two expanded routes, the 505 and the 515. The addition of the Transit Center as a stop on the 515 increases the amount of Frederick County access to the commuter service.

The 505 Commuter bus will begin in Hagerstown, MD and make one stop at the Myersville Park and Ride before heading to Montgomery County. The 515 Commuter bus begins at the downtown Transit Center/MARC station, stops at the Monocacy MARC station and the Urbana Park and Ride before departing toward Shady Grove. The service begins at 4:05am in Washington County and 4:20am in Frederick County. On the first and last return afternoon trips, passengers can use the 505 Commuter bus to connect to both the Monocacy MARC stop and the Hagerstown stop.

Commuters can access the downtown MARC station and the Monocacy train station with TransIT Connector buses to meet the 515 Commuter Bus. Meet-the-MARC service is also available to the Brunswick and Point-of-Rocks MARC stations each weekday.
